The Blues are set to fork out £53m on RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and Man City’s record signing is Rodri, who they paid £63.6m for in the last summer.
Like City, Frank Lampard would need to sell one of his current left-backs, Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso, to make room for Chilwell.
Leicester City will not be pressured into selling Chilwell, who has another four years to run on his current contract but he is keen on a big-money move to Chelsea.
