Since coming aboard this summer, the 27-year-old forward has already featured in two games for his new club.
He first took to the pitch against Vissel Kobe, then followed up with another appearance against FC Seoul on Thursday, sparking lively discussion among Barça supporters.
Rashford is aiming to log more playing time in preparation for Barcelona’s La Liga season opener next month.
He’s already begun leaving a mark on the team, prompting Kounde to comment on the recent addition from Manchester United.
Kounde, whose own negotiations were nearly affected by Rashford’s transfer, noted that the England forward is gradually fitting in and described him as a quiet, reserved individual.
“He’s a bit of an introvert, but he’s really enjoying it. He’s feeling more and more comfortable. I think he’s happy. He laughs a lot. He’s happy on the pitch too,” he said of the star forward.
“He reminds me a little of myself. He’s closed off, but he’s really enjoying it and seems to be settling in better and better.
“Everyone has welcomed him very warmly. He’s talking to everyone. I think he feels very comfortable.”
The defender added: “I speak English and I’m trying to help him as much as I can, but I think others are doing the same.”
Kounde’s new Barca contract was ‘postponed’ by Rashford’s arrival, according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
But he eventually put pen to paper on a new deal after Rashford completed his move to Barca.
“The club and I had the same idea of staying. I’m very happy, I feel comfortable with the team, with the ambition, and I’m very grateful to be at an institution where we fight for every title every year. I had no intention of leaving,” the Frenchman said of his new deal.
