Paris Saint-Germain attacker Angel Di Maria has revealed Jose Mourinho was involved in a bust-up with Cristiano Ronaldo during his time at Real Madrid that saw the duo ‘fight’.
Mourinho spent three years at Santiago Bernabeu, with Ronaldo at his peak after his £80 million move from Manchester United in 2009.
They clashed during their time in England after Mourinho made comments about Ronaldo’s education and the Portuguese manager was not seen as an ideal fit for the former Sporting Lisbon player.
And Di Maria has revealed how the duo clashed during their time in Spain as Mourinho ‘didn’t give a f**k’ who he fought with.
‘Mourinho is insane,’ said Di Maria. ‘With me he was always a good guy. He fought with anyone though, he didn’t give a f***.
‘One time he fought with Ronaldo telling him he didn’t run, that everyone ran for him.’
Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Manchester United on deadline day. And he signed an initial two-year deal with the club, who have the option of extending that by a further 12 months.
The Portugal international showed he’s lost none of his appetite for goals by scoring two late on against the Republic of Ireland.
The goals made Ronaldo the highest scoring forward in international history, meaning he has overtaken Ali Daei’s record of 109 goals.
