Lip reader reveals what Mo Salah said to Klopp in furious Liverpool touchline row

An expert in lip-reading has deduced the conversation between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp during a heated moment on the sidelines in Liverpool’s 2-2 tie with West Ham.

The duo was caught in a heated dialogue in the latter half, just as Salah was gearing up to join the game as a substitute towards the end.

At one point, Darwin Nunez had to restrain Salah, indicating that emotions were running high.

At the end of the game, Salah seemed to disregard Klopp, offering only a brief acknowledgment to the Liverpool supporters who had traveled to the game before heading straight to the tunnel.

Klopp later remarked that he and Salah had put the incident behind them after a discussion in the locker room, choosing not to divulge further details.

The Egyptian star struck a similar tone, but was even more cryptic when he told reporters in the mixed zone: “If I speak, there will be fire.”

Professional lip reader John Cassidy has studied the footage of Klopp & Salah’s row for SPORTbible, and came to the conclusion about what was said between the duo: “When Klopp tried to shake hands with Salah, Salah just feebly slapped Klopp’s hand.

“Salah said, ‘There’s nothing I can do about that, nothing.’

“Klopp’s reply was obscured, indicating Salah wasn’t ready as quickly as Klopp liked it to be. Klopp walked over and irritated Salah by saying something to him.

“Salah then said, ‘I will, I will get a red card, after seven years, after seven years’ service, after seven years!’ He then got ushered away by Nunez.”

Following the altercation, speculation intensified about the 31-year-old’s potential departure from Anfield during the upcoming summer, with the Saudi Pro League showing keen interest.

Liverpool had previously rejected a £150 million offer from the Saudi club Al Ittihad on the last day of the previous transfer window. There have been hints that the league might consider a renewed bid for Salah in the future.

As the next season approaches, Salah will be entering the final year of his contract. However, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool’s strategy involves Salah staying with the team for at least one more season.
