Man Utd fans react furiously after Ronaldo left Old Trafford before the final whistle

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to leave Old Trafford before the full-time whistle of the club’s friendly game against Rayo Vallecano today.

The 37-year-old was playing his first game under Erik ten Hag after missing the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and Thailand.

Ronaldo played 45 minutes against Vallecano and was eventually replaced at half-time by Amad Diallo. But, it would appear that he wasn’t too pleased with the decision, and he was seen leaving the Theatre of Dreams before the game ended.

Ronaldo was pictured signing autographs for a number of fans outside the stadium, who had already positioned themselves at the exit as they waited for the squad to leave.

Usually, the area would be packed with fans and they were clearly surprised to see Ronaldo at such an early stage of the afternoon.

It’s the latest twist in what has been the saga of the summer so far at Old Trafford, as the Portuguese star attempts to engineer a move away from the club.

But a United fan on Twitter posted two pictures of Ronaldo outside the stadium, saying the Portugal star left before the final whistle in the game.

‘The king is gone’ the fan wrote with a crying emoji next to it. Another meanwhile said: ‘Probably the last time we’ll see him in ot [Old Trafford] which is a shame to say.’

But not all United supporters responded to the picture with sadness. One United fan said: ‘The disrespect this man shows, not even [Paul] Pogba was this disrespectful.’

Another wrote: ‘Can’t stress how bad of a look this is by Cristiano, both in terms of professionalism but also as an example to the youngsters who all played today. Don’t care who you are. Bin.’

Another one simply added: ‘Embarrassing’, while others looked at the situation more cynically, with one stating: ‘Keeping himself match fit for potential new club!!’

Other users were not impressed too, with one posting: ‘Unacceptable Behaviour if we’re being honest,’ while another described Ronaldo as a ‘classless professional’.
