Man Utd to use Mason Greenwood in player plus cash deal with European giant

It is reported that Manchester United is considering including Mason Greenwood as part of a deal, along with additional funds, to secure a key defensive player they are targeting.

The 22-year-old Greenwood’s tenure with United has been under speculation following the dismissal of serious allegations against him in February of the previous year. Greenwood has consistently refuted these claims.

The club had initially determined that Greenwood would not continue at Old Trafford, resulting in his temporary move to Getafe during the last summer transfer window.

Nonetheless, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a minority stakeholder in United, mentioned in February that the club has not reached a final decision regarding Greenwood’s position once his loan period concludes..

He said: “It’s quite clear we have to make a decision. There is no decision that’s been made. He’s on loan, obviously, but he’s not the only one.

“We’ve got one or two footballers that we have to deal with and we have to make a decision on, so we will do that.

“The process will be: understand the facts, not the hype, and then try and come to a fair decision on the basis of values. Is he a good guy or not?

“Could he play sincerely for Manchester United well? Would we be comfortable with it, and would the fans be comfortable with it?”

Recent reports suggest Manchester United might consider selling Mason Greenwood when the transfer window opens, with speculations from Gazzetta dello Sport indicating a possible exchange involving Greenwood for Juventus’s Gleison Bremer.

Bremer, a standout performer in Serie A, is reportedly valued between £51 million and £60 million. United could potentially negotiate a lower fee by offering Greenwood as part of the deal.

Juventus appears to be interested in Greenwood, who has contributed six goals and five assists over 24 league matches this season.

In addition to Bremer, United is reportedly showing interest in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo for the centre-back position.
