Messi confirms he wants Griezmann at Barcelona

Barcelona’s players continue to talk in a positive way about the possible arrival of Antoine Griezmann during the transfer summer with the latest being Lionel Messi.

A couple of weeks ago, it was the turn of Luis Suarez, who revealed that he would welcome the signing of the France international.

Now, it is Lionel Messi who has conceded that he would be happy to see Griezmann arrive at the Camp Nou during the transfer window.

“It is obvious that I like him, he is one of the best players right now,” Messi said.

“I don’t know if there’s anything in it but we’re delighted to have the best here and Griezmann is one of them.”

Messi also talked about the season as a whole as the league came to an end and believes that it has been a big success.

“It has been a very good season for us, we won LaLiga and the Copa del Rey again,” he added.

“The Champions League remains a thorn for us, especially because of how we lost and because we had a big advantage.

“But the season has been a good one and goes beyond that defeat.”

In relation to his comments on Griezmann, the fact that Messi has came out in favour of his signing instead of skipping the question would suggest that the Frenchman is getting closer to a move to Barca.

The attempts of Atletico to convince him to stay have not yet been met with a solid response from the ex-Real Sociedad player.

That attitude has not gone well with fans, who whistled Griezmann against Eibar because to them, it does seem that he is heading to Camp Nou.

Josep Maria Bartomeu has already publicly admitted that he has met with the player’s representative in October.

Barcelona have also reserved the No. 7 jersey, after Arda Turan exited in January and was not given to Philippe Coutinho.
