Neymar drops Lionel Messi bombshell after PSG beat Man Utd

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar dropped a Lionel Messi bombshell after their 3-1 victory against Manchester United by saying he plans on playing with the Barcelona talisman next campaign.

Neymar scored a brace at Old Trafford in a win which puts his side within touching distance of the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The Brazilian forward signed for PSG from Barcelona in a £199.5m deal in 2017, which made him the most expensive player of all-time.

But, Neymar has threatened to leave on at least two occasions and he’s believed to be interested in returning to the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Messi’s desire to leave Barca last summer has complicated matters somewhat, opening up the possibility that he could actually join Neymar in Paris rather than the other way around.

But, despite being happy with his side’s win over United, Neymar made it clear that he wants to play with the Argentine superstar again next campaign.

‘What I want most is to play with [Messi] again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again,’ Neymar told Brazilian reporters after the United clash.

‘He could play in my place. He won’t have any problems, I’m sure. I want to play with him again and I’m sure that, next season, we have to do it.’

With the Spanish club currently in huge financial difficulty, it looks impossible that Barcelona could fund a move for Neymar.

They only managed to hold onto Messi last summer window, despite dropping a transfer request. And Messi will be out of contract at the end of the season and he’s free to speak to non-Spanish sides from January 1st.
