Andre Onana fires dig at Liverpool after Man Utd’s draw at Anfield

Andre Onana dismisses the atmosphere at Anfield as ‘insignificant’ during Manchester United’s goalless draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s team executed a disciplined performance, earning a valuable point and frustrating Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Despite the opening of the expanded upper tier of the Anfield Road Stand, which welcomed 57,158 fans to the stadium.

Onana, when questioned about the atmosphere created by Liverpool’s supporters, he told MUTV, ‘Nothing.’

‘I’m a Manchester United goalkeeper so you have to be ready for everything. ‘I’m used to playing big games with high intensity, so that’s why they brought me here.

‘It was a nice game for us to play. We face a very good opponent but we show we are good players. We are a big club. That’s why we are going back with the point.

‘Like I said, being Manchester United you must try to win every game.’

Onana also dismissed the suggestion that he delivered the ‘perfect’ goalkeeping display at Anfield.

‘I will say no because the most important thing is the three points,’ Onana said.

‘You know when you come to Anfield, it will be great going back home with the three points. But like I said, if you have the clean sheet it’s good but the most important thing is to win the game.

‘It was a tough game of course, but being a part of this big club, you must win. We had some, not too many, chances but we couldn’t score.

‘So now, ahead of getting ready for the coming games, we have to look forward because it’s not enough. We have to do much more.’
