Paul Pogba has revealed the Manchester United squad are ‘disappointed and annoyed’ after they were eliminated out of the Carabao Cup by bitter rivals Man City.
Goals from John Stones and Fernandinho were enough to secure a 2-0 win for Man City on Wednesday night as the Red devils missed out on a Wembley final against Tottenham.
Despite the scoreline, United did have opportunities to win the game themselves but they paid the price for a lack of killer instinct in attack.
The defeat marked the fourth time United have tasted semi-final defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pogba concedes the dressing room mood was very low at full-time.
“Of course it is disappointing because it is not the first one against City at home,” Pogba told MUTV.
“We are disappointed with the result, obviously, with the two goals from set-pieces. “It can go both ways but we lost today. It is not the first one, like I said.
“It is very annoying to lose because there is a trophy behind all of this. We have to do better, we have to do better for sure.”

He added: “It is details. Details make the difference all of the time and now when it is big games like this, it is details and at set-pieces we lost.
“We have to learn and we have to learn, because it is not the first time.
“We have to learn, we have to get through this because, after this, there are big games coming up after tonight and tomorrow we will go again.”
