Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba says it will be a ‘pleasure’ to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and says the Portugal skipper will ‘raise’ the club’s level.
The 36-year-old rejoined United last week in a shock transfer move that saw Ronaldo sign a two-year contract with his former club.
The move came out of the blue, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying just 48 hours before an agreement was struck with Ronaldo that they did not plan on making more additions in the window.

But Solskjaer couldn’t resist the opportunity to sign his former team-mate and the Red devils’ title chances have increased with Ronaldo’s return.
And Pogba concedes he’s delighted to be able to call Ronaldo a team-mate, as he says the rest of the team must now step-up to his level.
‘It’s always a pleasure to play with the best,’ said Pogba. ‘It’s also a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player. He’s going to raise the level of the team
‘Everybody knows [what Ronaldo brings]. He’s already a legend in this club and he’s coming back, so obviously it’s huge for us, for the club
‘He’s going to bring his experience, his quality and obviously when he comes the level [of the team] goes up.’
The Portugal international now hopes to make his second debut for the Premier League side against Newcastle United on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo landed in Manchester over the weekend but he’s unable to train with his new team-mates at the club until midweek due to Covid-19 protocols.
