Sergio Reguilon has named Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool stars among best Spanish players to ever play in the Premier League.

The Tottenham left-back arrived from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020 and has played 45 Premier League games in his opening season-and-a-half in London.

Reguilon has also played six times for Spain national team, with his first cap coming during a UEFA Nations League game against Ukraine on September 2020.

The defender was asked to name the best Spanish goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and attacker to ever grace the Premier League.

And he was quick to overlook former Liverpool star Pepe Reina and ex-United shot-stopper Victor Valdes in the goalkeeping position, instead choosing David de Gea.

‘I’ve played with him in the national team and he’s very secure for us. He gives us a lot of confidence,’ he told the Premier League.

The Spurs left-back went onto pick Chelsea club skipper as the best Spanish Premier League defender, describing him as ‘a top guy, a top professional, soldier.’

Reguilon had many world-class players to pick from in midfield, with players like Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Santi Cazorla and Juan Mata all among the contenders.

But, he chose former Manchester City maestro David Silva after he ended his Premier League career with an impressive 60 goals and 93 assists in 309 matches across 10 years at the Etihad.

There has also been several standout Spanish strikers to play in the Premier League over the years, with the likes of Diego Costa and Luis Garcia among the best.

But it was Fernando Torres who got Reguilon’s vote for scoring 85 goals in 212 games in England’s top flight.
