Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly asked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to change Manchester United’s style of play so as to get the best out of him.
The Portuguese forward has scored five goals in five games since returning to Old Trafford over the summer, netting a late winner in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Villarreal.
Ronaldo is more than content with his contributions for the Red devils so far but has made it clear to Solskjaer that he can increase his goal ratio even further if they quicker in the opposition half.

According to ESPN, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner wants United’s defenders to get the ball to the forwards more quickly, with United still underwhelming so far despite their strong summer transfer window.
As well as signing Ronaldo, United also brought Jadon Sancho and Varane to the club this summer and Solskjaer wants his team to be more clinical, starting on Saturday when they play Everton.
The Red Devils have dropped five points in the Premier League this campaign after losing against Aston Villa last weekend, while they were beaten in their opening Champions League game.
United have lost only one of their last 12 league matches with Everton – recording six wins and five draws – with their defeat coming in April 2019.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fell behind against Villarreal but equalised through Alex Telles and finally completed the comeback when Ronaldo scored an injury-time winner.
By helping United secure the big result against Spanish club Villarreal, Ronaldo showed he is a ‘natural born winner’, according to Clinton Morrison.
The former Crystal Palace player told BBC Radio 5 Live: ‘Ronaldo was fairly quiet for most of the game but big footballers and the best players in the world always come up with the goods when their team needs it.
‘That’s what Ronaldo has done ever since he has come back to United. He has delivered. A lot of people questioned him with his age – will he be able to deliver? Of course he can.
‘He keeps himself in great condition, he keeps on going and he is a natural born winner. That is what he showed again.’
