Ross Barkley speaks out on possible Man Utd transfer

Ross Barkley, the central figure in Luton Town’s midfield, has expressed his desire to continue playing in the Premier League amidst rumors of a potential transfer to Manchester United.

Since his free transfer to Luton last August, Barkley has emerged as a key player for the team this season.

At 30 years old, Barkley is poised to be a pivotal player in Luton’s campaign to secure their Premier League status, as they currently hover just above the relegation zone due to goal difference.

Speculation has arisen about Manchester United’s interest in acquiring Barkley during the summer transfer window, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s new co-owner, reportedly eyeing the ex-Chelsea midfielder as a possible successor to Casemiro.

Nevertheless, Barkley remains dedicated to his current task—steering Luton away from the threat of relegation.

‘I want to play in the Premier League,’ Barkley told Sky Sports.

‘I want to play in Europe again but I’m not really focused on that now.

‘I want to help the club stay in the league. I love the club. It’s helped me so much and I owe them a lot. So I’m focused on that and thinking about nothing other than helping them do that.’

This Saturday, Ross Barkley is gearing up for a significant challenge as he and his Luton Town teammates head to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.

Barkley holds the conviction that he can hold his own against the Premier League’s elite players.

‘I believe I can compete with the top players at Man City and Arsenal,’ said Barkley.

‘I feel like I’m confident enough to know what their strengths are and what their weaknesses are.

‘I feel like I can exploit certain things but when we play Man City, they will have most of the possession so it’s about what you do out of possession. We need to be in the right positions and stick together going forward. Hopefully, I can make some things happen.’
