Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to give Jadon Sancho a start in Manchester United’s Premier League opening game against Leeds United, according to reports.
The England international began training with his new club on Monday after a £73m transfer move from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer.
United completed their deal for Sancho on July 23 but he has been on holiday after playing for England at the European Championships less than a month ago.
Speaking last week, Solskjaer suggested that Sancho and Raphael Varane – who will complete a £40m move to Old Trafford from Real Madrid – would be on the bench for United’s Premier League opener against Leeds.
But The Sun claim Sancho could well start alongside the Red devils stars Bruno Fernandes and behind Anthony Martial.
Despite missing United’s pre-season, Sancho kept himself fit with his own training regime after the Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
Discussing Sancho last week, Solskjaer said: ‘Jadon is in for Monday and hopefully then he’s in decent nick and can be involved [against Leeds].’

Before arriving at the club, Sancho spent four successful years at Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and making 57 assists in 137 matches.
On his move to United, Sancho said last month: ‘I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first-team football, although I always knew that I would return to England.
‘The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
‘This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.’
