Van Dijk drops huge hint over Liverpool exit after Klopp bombshell

Virgil van Dijk has expressed uncertainty about his continued tenure at Liverpool beyond Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Anfield.

Klopp’s recent announcement of leaving the club at the end of the season surprised both players and fans.

Throughout Klopp’s era, Van Dijk played a crucial role in Liverpool’s achievements, contributing to the team’s victories in six major competitions, including the Premier League and the Champions League.

The 32-year-old’s existing deal with Liverpool is set to end next year, and the defender has suggested that he might seek a new path once Klopp steps down.

When asked if he could envisage being part of the post-Klopp era at Anfield, Van Dijk said: ‘That’s a big question. Well, I don’t know.’

When he was reminded that he has only 18 months left on his contract with the Reds, Van Dijk said: ‘That is correct, good maths. Listen, I don’t know.

‘The club will have a big job on their hands. That is well known. To replace the manager and replace not only the manager, the staff is leaving, and there are so many things that will change.

‘So the club has a big job on its hands and I am very curious which direction that will go in.

‘But when that will be announced we will see our situation. I can’t say much about it.’
