Zinedine Zidane predicts Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Champions League clash

Zinedine Zidane is confident that Real Madrid will triumph over Bayern Munich to secure a spot in the Champions League final.

The upcoming second leg of the match between Madrid and Bayern is set for Wednesday night, with the teams currently tied after a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena last week.

Despite Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich having an impressive record of not losing a home game in the Champions League knockout stages for the past four years, they are still considered the team to beat.

The winner will face either Borussia Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

Zidane, who has a storied history with Madrid, earning the Champions League title once as a player and three times as a coach, is rooting for his old team to overcome Bayern.

‘I hope Madrid wins but it is going to be a difficult and complicated match,’ Zindeine Zidane told Sky Germany at the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.

Zidane has not managed a team since leaving Real Madrid in May 2021 and was linked with a surprise move to Bayern just last month.

Bayern are still looking to replace Thomas Tuchel at the end of the campaign but have been hit with several setbacks in their hunt for a new manager with Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick all rejecting the position.

When asked if he will manage Bayern Munich in the future, Zidane replied with a smile: ‘I am going to watch the game, thanks.’
