Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been offered to Barcelona with the player said to be eager to make the move to the Camp Nou.
The Dutchman signed for United in a deal worth £35m last summer but endured a tough first campaign in the Premier League.
Van de Beek was limited to just 15 starting appearances – only four of those in the league – as he struggled to break into the first-team under Solskjaer, sparking speculation over his future at the club.
A report from the Telegraph claimed Van de Beek’s patience at Old Trafford is now wearing thin with the former Ajax midfielder surprised and concerned over the lack of playing opportunities afforded to him.
His representatives are now seeking alternative solutions and have offered the 24-year-old to Barcelona after their failed attempts to sign Georginio Wijnaldum – who rejected the Catalan giants for a move to PSG.
Sport claim van de Beek would be ‘delighted’ to make the move to Camp Nou, one that would see him link up with former Ajax teammate Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona are yet to respond to the offer but the report claims the Spanish club are keen to bring in a more defensively-minded midfielder and mat likely look elsewhere.

Multiple figures in Dutch football have already urged van de Beek to leave United over the last year including Rafael van der Vaart, who insisted his countryman is ‘far too good’ to be sat on the bench.
‘If nobody leaves United [this summer], he will be lucky to get in the starting line-up,’ he said. ‘He is far too good to sit on the bench for two seasons. He needs minutes very quickly. He is still young, but time flies.
‘A club like Borussia Dortmund would have been a better step for him. Manchester United might be a step too far for him.’
