Jurgen Klopp slammed Neymar before storming out of an interview after Liverpool’s Champions League loss to PSG.
Liverpool’s hopes of progressing to the next stages of the competition were dealt a huge blow after PSG clinched a 2-1 win at the Parc des Princes stadium.
Neymar scored a record-breaking goal after Juan Bernat’s early goal put PSG in full control of the Group C game.
James Milner’s penalty just before half-time gave Liverpool hope of a comeback but PSG held firm with the help of some controversial tactics.
Liverpool conceded 20 fouls in the game and Jurgen Klopp accused Neymar and his teammates of playacting.
He told beIN Sports: ‘We tried to change the game after half-time but you saw it… look, we lost, they scored two, we scored one.
‘But so many interruptions in a game like this. ‘Everyone knows what they want to do, especially what Neymar wants to do.
‘They get 50 free-kicks. We look like butchers but we are a completely normal football team.
‘They go down in every situation, it’s unbelievable. That was really hard to deal with and didn’t help us obviously.’
Pressed on whether Neymar’s antics during the match was frustrating, Klopp replied ‘I said what I had to say, that’s it’ before storming off.
In a separate interview with BT Sport, Klopp added: ‘The start was like what we expected, it was very wild and intense and they took all the risks.
‘They scored twice by winning the second ball. We still had to stay in the game, but as soon as we had a bit of control, you saw the game wasn’t decided.
‘We tried everything but we didn’t have enough clear chances. We had two or three promising situations but with one or two decisions they would have been.’
