Bayern player Leon Goretzka has sought to diffuse the situation after reports emerged of a training-ground bust-up with Boateng.
As reported by Bild, Boateng punched Goretzka in the face in retaliation to a tackle in a training game.
Goretzka has since posted photos of himself smiling with Jerome Boateng. The hashtagged caption read “football is emotion, everybody should relax, we are family.”
Boateng also posted another photo on his Instagram, writing: “Everything is fine between us, you can relax!”
Goretzka has been on good form for Bayern Munich since the end of Bundesliga winter break, and even scored his first league goal of the campaign at the weekend.
The German scored an acrobatic volley to cap a fine performance in a 5-0 thrashing of Schalke, after a pair of assists in a 4-0 victory at Hertha Berlin the previous week.
The results have seen Bayern move to within one point of RB Leipzig, with Julian Nagelsmann’s team having been surprisingly beaten 2-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Boateng has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this campaign but played 90 minutes in both matches.
The veteran defender has been restricted to just 11 matches in the Bundesliga, and he only started three of the club’s six games in the Champions League.
