Chelsea have been told they could sign Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico for only £22.4million in the next transfer window.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard wants to sign a new left-back to his team and has eyed a move for Leicester City’s defender Ben Chilwell.
But England international Chilwell is rated at more than £40 million by Leicester, which would make 27-year-old Tagliafico a cheaper alternative.
It remains to be seen whether or not Lampard will move for Tagliafico. But the blues have been made aware of his low fee, the fact the player wants to move to the Premier League is a plus.
Chelsea have developed a good relationship with Ajax and have agreed to pay up to £37 million to sign Hakim Ziyech from the club.
Lampard was first alerted to Ziyech when he saw him in the Champions League against Tottenham last campaign and Tagliafico must hope he too left a lasting impression.

Tagliafico has conceded recently that he would favour a move to England above either Spain or Italy.
Speaking this month to Argentinian station Radio Continental, Tagliafico said: “Ajax it’s a great club, but as a player of course you dream of playing in the biggest leagues and the Premier League is right now the most competitive one, a bit above La Liga and Serie A.”
Chelsea’s rivals Arsenal showed an interest in Tagliafico, who can play at left-back and wing-back, last summer, but they signed Kieran Tierney instead.
Lampard will likely allow one of his current left-backs, Marcos Alonso, to leave at the end of this campaign if the Spanish defender receives an offer to go.
Other than a left-back, Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a striker, another wide player and possibly a new central defender.
