Barcelona are considering a £60m summer swoop for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.
Martial has reportedly reached a contract stalemate with Old Trafford amid concerns over his playing time under Jose Mourinho. His current contract expires next year summer – but United still have the option of a one-year extension.
Since Alexis Sanchez joined the club, Martial has started only four games – including defeats against Tottenham and Newcastle.
Martial is also said to be unhappy that he was asked to play on the right wing rather than his preferred left side because of Sanchez.
Barcelona considered making a bid for Martial last summer before they later moved for Ousmane Dembele but they may now return for the France international.
Barcelona are also confident in signing French Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer, while their scouts are also monitoring Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
Martial has not scored since Sanchez signed and has often watched from the bench as the Chilean became an instant starter.
Manchester United are desperate to ensure Martial’s contract does not run out, but have so far struggled to meet his demands.
