Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema sent a classy message to Raphael Varane ahead of the player’s move to Manchester United.
The France international is set to join United on a four-year deal this week after Real Madrid accepted a £39m bid for the defender, who had intimated he would not sign an extension to his contract.
Varane won 18 trophies at Santiago Bernabeu and did so alongside Benzema, who joined the La Liga club two years before the defender joined the Spanish capital over Manchester.
He will finally move to Old Trafford this week but there’s no ill-feeling between Varane and Benzema, with the former Lyon star wishing his close friend all the best in England.
‘My brother, what more can I say except that you are a legend here,’ said Benzema.
‘I will miss you I wish you the best in your new challenge with all the happiness. ‘You deserve everything you have accomplished and I wish you even more.’
The Red devils will now look to recoup some of their £110million outlay on Varane & Jadon Sancho before addressing other areas of the team.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still keen on signing a right-back, with Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier high on his list of priorities.
The Premier League team will also look to sign a new midfielder should Paul Pogba leave United for Paris Saint-Germain.
