Chelsea are reportedly preparing a huge £75million offer for Kai Havertz as they look to unite the attacking midfielder with Timo Werner.
But they face huge competition for Havertz, with Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United among the sides to have been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen player.
Leverkusen have acknowledged they face a battle to keep hold of Havertz this summer window, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also believed to be interested in the 20-year-old.
And Chelsea hope the lure of being able to play with his Germany teammate Timo Werner will help them sign Havertz, according to the Daily Mail.
Timo Werner is expected to sign for Frank Lampard’s side this week after the blues offered the RB Leipzig striker a £200,000-per-week deal.
Willian and Pedro are set to leave the club on free transfers this summer, and Chelsea want young wingers to replace them.

They have already completed the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for £38m, while Werner can also play out wide as well as up front.
But the signing of Kai Havertz would give the blues an impressive array of attacking options along with Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount.
However, Chelsea will again have to splash out, with Havertz expected to cost around £75m to add to the £52m the club are expected to sign Werner.
Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes said: “We don’t know yet what will happen to Kai.
“We know that all the great clubs from Germany and Europe are after him and that he has the ability to play anywhere.”
