Man Utd player pulled aside by Fulham boss Marco Silva outside Old Trafford

Manchester United midfielder Fred was pulled aside by Fulham head coach Marco Silva after their Premier League game at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s team went a goal behind in their last Premier League fixture of the campaign but Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes struck to secure a 2-1 win.

Fred, meanwhile, played just over an hour before he was eventually replaced in the second half by Christian Eriksen.

But some United fans believe this could be Fred’s last season at Old Trafford after his exchange with Silva outside Old Trafford.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, Silva is seen speaking with Fred, while eyewitnesses report that the Fulham boss ignored every other United star and only got off the team coach to speak with the Brazilian.

Fred has onky one year left on his contract with United, while the 30-year-old was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the January window.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has warned United that investment is needed this summer or they risk seeing the club fall behind their Premier League rivals.

‘The club knows if you want to play top four, compete for trophies in this tough league, then you have to invest, otherwise you don’t have a chance because other clubs will do,’ Ten Hag said after United’s win over Fulham.

‘We’ve seen it in the winter: all the clubs around us made huge investments, we didn’t, but still we made it, so I’m proud of my team.

‘We are in the right direction, but we are not where we have to be. There’s potential in this team and in individual players. We showed during the season we made progress, that’s a compliment to the players and the coaches. We worked really hard but we have to make an investment.’
