Man Utd set Mason Greenwood asking price amid Barcelona interest

Reports indicate that Manchester United have established a price tag for Mason Greenwood, drawing attention from two Champions League clubs.

Earlier in August, it was affirmed that Greenwood and Manchester United had mutually decided the 22-year-old would pursue his career elsewhere from Old Trafford.

Following the dismissal of charges by the Crown Prosecution Service for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control, Greenwood underwent an internal investigation at United.

On the transfer deadline day, Greenwood finalized a loan deal with Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe for the 23/24 season.

Since joining Getafe, he has featured in 24 matches across various competitions, netting seven goals and providing five assists.

Consequently, there have been rumors connecting Greenwood with a permanent departure from United in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Per Fussball News, United are aiming to recover a minimum of €40 million if they decide to offload the Englishman during the summer transfer period.

Reports suggest that Spanish La Liga powerhouses Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have shown interest in acquiring Greenwood once his loan spell with Getafe concludes at the end of the season.

Lately, Greenwood was reportedly involved in an incident with Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

La Liga is presently investigating the Madrid midfielder for an alleged offensive comment directed at Greenwood.

Speaking after the incident, Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas said: “I know the same thing that you know. It’s not up to me, it’s the club, La Liga and the Federation that have to make an assessment about it.

“The only thing that I can say is that I ask for respect from Mason Greenwood because he is a great guy.”

Bordalas added: “He is a man who respects everyone and has exemplary behaviour.”
