Man Utd concerned Van de Beek is not cut out for the Premier League

Senior coaches within Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s staff have raised major concerns about Donny van de Beek’s suitability for the Premier League.

The Dutchman joined the Red devils for around £34m in 2020, with United seeing off huge competition from Real Madrid & Tottenham for his signature.

But, the 24-year-old has managed just few starts in the Premier League since arriving and he’s been limited to just two starts in all competitions so far this campaign.

United put Van de Beek on a conditioning programme last summer in order to bulk up the player so that he’s better prepared for the physicality of the English league.

But the Athletic claim some members of Solskjaer’s coaching staff have concerns about Van de Beek’s ability to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

There are no concerns over Van de Beek’s ability and Solskjaer still believe in the player’s chances of making it at the theatre of dreams.

But van de Beek’s patience is running thin and he’s even questioning his future at Old Trafford ahead of the January window.

Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Van de Beek but he would not be short of suitors should the club make it clear they’re willing to listen to offers for the midfielder.
