Luka Modric has told Neymar that Real Madrid players are ‘waiting for him’ to make a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The Brazil international returned from his foot injury on Sunday and made an instant impact as he scored a spectacular goal in the 2-0 win over Croatia at Anfield.
Reports have claimed that Neymar and his representative are pushing for a transfer to Real Madrid this summer, just one year after moving to PSG in a world-record £198m deal.
But the French champions remain adamant that they will not sell their star player.
After his comeback on Sunday, Brazil’s national team captured a clip of Neymar exchanging shirts with Modric just outside the dressing rooms at Anfield.
And towards the end of the 42-second clip, Modric can be seen telling Neymar: ‘We are waiting for you, eh.’
Neymar though replied with a laugh before the video ended.
When asked after the game about Neymar joining Madrid this summer, Modric said following Brazil’s win over Croatia: ‘Let’s see what happens.’

But Real Madrid fans are convinced Neymar’s exchange with Modric shows that a switch to the Bernabeu is on the cards.
