Maurizio Sarri has claimed that Eden Hazard will miss Chelsea’s Carabao Cup game with Derby County on Wednesday.
The Belgium international injured his back in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United last week and was unable to be training session this week.
Hazard missed Chelsea’s victory over BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday and was ruled out once more as Sarri’s team coasted to a 4-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Speaking about Hazard’s injury after the win at Turf Moor, Sarri concedes the winger remains a doubt ahead of Chelsea’s next game.
‘I want him every match, if possible. I think that he offers something different,’ said Sarri.
‘I am very happy as the team was able to score seven goals in two matches without him.
‘I want him as soon as possible. I’m not sure for Wednesday.’
