UEFA reportedly offered the six Premier League clubs a significant amount of money to leave the European Super League.
Mundo Deportivo claim that the outrage across English football, from supporters, pundits, players and managers was not the only key factor why the teams have now officially started pulling out of the league.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City did not withdraw due to ‘threats’ but because they were ‘offered’ huge amount of money.
The Spanish outlet claims that a ‘significant sum’ has been offered to the ‘big six’. With it added that the offer has not reached Spanish teams yet.
It’s stressed that UEFA was threatened by the proposals that would’ve made the Champions League and Europa League useless and so they delved into their pockets to get a solution.
However, the Spanish clubs involved in the breakaway competition, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, are seen as the major enemy by UEFA.
It is also reported that La Liga’s big sides don’t see the Premier League club’s withdrawal as a ‘definitive’ choice, they are convinced this project will come back to life.

But, now the delusion of Florentino Perez, Joan Laporta and Miguel Angel Gil Marin seems to know no bounds.
A Super League consisting of teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan alone may never take off.
While the Premier League big clubs have seen the widespread backlash their greed has caused and would not want to try such plans again.
