Arsenal to sell two key players in the coming weeks as part of major revamp

Arsenal are reportedly ready to cash in on Thomas Partey this summer with him and Granit Xhaka both set to leave the Emirates in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta is now hoping to revamp his midfield this summer with Declan Rice the club’s main target.

The North Londoners saw an opening offer rejected by West Ham United last week but remain in discussions with Rice eager to make the transfer move across the capital.

While Xhaka and Partey were important players during Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge last campaign, Arteta and sporting director Edu are set to make huge changes.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Gunners are ready to cash in on the Ghana international if they are able to bring in the right targets.

Xhaka is finally expected to leave Arsenal and join Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £13million.

In addition to Rice, Moises Caicedo has been linked with a summer move to the Emirates after Arsenal saw two offers for the Ecuadorian turned down during the January transfer window.

Recent reports have now suggested Arsenal have cooled their interest with Caicedo reportedly set to sign for Chelsea.

Partey moved to Arsenal in a £45m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and having overcome fitness issues that plagued his first two years at the club, was a mainstay in midfield during the 2022-23 season.

Arsenal are believed to be have been disappointed with his displays towards the end of the season as they lost a healthy lead at the top to Manchester City.

Partey subsequently lost his starting place in the starting lineup to Jorginho and ended the season being deployed as a right-back.

The 30-year-old was benched for three successive matches against Chelsea, Newcastle and Brighton and when he returned to the starting XI against Nottingham Forest he was fielded at right-back.

Two Serie A teams are currently keeping tabs on Partey’s situation with Arsenal ready to sell if the right offer is made.
