Arsenal on verge of Havertz signing as Bayern approach considered ‘too late’

Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea as Bayern Munich’s late approach seems to have failed, according to reports.

Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the Germany international and remain in talks with Chelsea over a transfer fee.

It’s believed that Arsenal’s opening offer for Havertz was turned down by Chelsea, who are holding out for a £70m fee for the attacker.

Meanwhile, Sky Germany claim Bayern Munich approached Havertz this week to express their interest, but the Bundesliga giants were informed that the Gunners are further ahead in their progress to complete a deal.

The report claims Bayern’s approach was ‘too late’ and that Havertz’s preference is to remain in the Premier League.

It’s also claimed that Bayern have not made any offer for Havertz and from the club’s point of view, they would need Arsenal to drop their interest in order to have a chance to signing the Chelsea star this summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal still remain in discussions with West Ham over a fee for Declan Rice. And Arsenal’s £80m bid for the England midfielder was rejected by West Ham this week.

It’s said that West Ham are holding out for a deal around £100m.

Rice, meanwhile, is reported to favour a move to Arsenal ahead of both Manchester United and Chelsea, although Man City are also considering a move this summer.
