Arteta no longer speaking to Arsenal player after vowing to ‘destroy’ squad leaker

Arsenal defender David Luiz is no longer on speaking terms with Mikel Arteta after the manager vowed to ‘destory’ whoever was behind the leaks that led to reports of a training ground bust-up between the Brazilian and Dani Ceballos.

Both players were sent home from the training after the duo were separated after a fight in a practice game during international break.

At the time, Ceballos denied the reports but Arteta conceded them just a day later and he was angry that the fight was leaked to the media.

‘I don’t like the fact that that incident comes out at all,’ said Arteta. ‘I will find out where it is coming from and if that is the case, that goes completely against what I expect from each other, the privacy and the confidentiality that we need, and there will be consequences.’

Ceballos has been in and out of the team this campaign, but Luiz had been a mainstay until he recently suffered a head injury in their defeat to Wolves.

However, Football.London reports the incident has had a lasting effect on Arteta as he was so very angry that the fight between the players had been leaked.

Arteta is believed to have vowed to ‘destroy’ the person responsible, with the report claiming that a series of agents had leaked the story.

It’s reported since that Arteta is no longer on speaking terms with David Luiz, with the mood between the duo having ‘soured’ in recent weeks.

Football.London also claim the Arsenal squad were unhappy with the way Arteta criticised Nicolas Pepe for his red card against Leeds.

Arteta was scathing in his interviews after the former Lille winger was sent off for an off-the-ball incident in the game.

Certain members of the team were reported to be surprised at Arteta’s decision to publicly criticise a member of the team and feel that it added to a hostile atmosphere at the Emirates.
