Chelsea offer two players to West Ham in exchange for Declan Rice

Chelsea have offered two players to West Ham in a bid to sign Declan Rice before the summer transfer window closes.

Frank Lampard is believed to be a huge admirer of Rice, 21, and wants Chelsea to bring him to the club before the summer window closes next week.

Chelsea have already spent more than £200m this summer on players like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy but Lampard wants the blues to complete one more deal.

But, West Ham are reluctant to allow Rice leave, he has developed into one of their most consistent players over the past four years, and they value the player at around £75m.

That figure will be beyond Chelsea given their summer spending spree to date but they are hoping to tempt West Ham to agree to a cheaper deal by offering two first-team players.

The Transfer Window Podcast claim Chelsea have offered Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to West Ham as they attempt to complete a deal for Rice.

Rudiger has played more than 100 matches for Chelsea since moving to the club from Roma in 2017 but has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Thiago Silva.

The 27-year-old is yet to play any game for Lampard’s side this campaign and been linked with some clubs, including Chelsea rivals Tottenham.

Loftus-Cheek, meanwhile, is also another player struggling for game-time at Stamford Bridge and Lampard concedes he could be set to leave the club on loan.

‘I am very open with Ruben. We have had a couple of conversations in the last week,’ Lampard said earlier in the week. ‘He is fit as a fiddle so he could play week in, week out, but he needs to play.

‘There is a possibility Ruben might go out [on loan] to play games because I think that would be great for him. We hold him in very high regard here, I certainly do, and that could be a good option for him.

‘But if it’s not the right option, he will be competitive in this squad as well because of the qualities he has and hopefully be a big plus for us, so I am relaxed about it.’
