Jack Grealish drops huge Man Utd transfer hint on Twitter

Jack Grealish has fuelled speculations he could be set to join Manchester United, ‘liking’ a fan’s plea on Twitter for him to complete a transfer move to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Aston Villa skipper has long been linked with United and is believed to be on Solskjaer’s shortlist of transfer targets, with the Norwegian coach in the market for attacking reinforcements after another year without silverware.

Reports this week suggest some members of United’s dressing room have been blown away by Grealish’s displays in the Premier League this campaign and view him as an ‘appealing signing’.

However, Unuted will have to beat off competition from Manchester City to sign the England international, who are prepared to make the midfielder the first ever £100m player in the Premier League.

Villa appear to be are in no hurry to part with Grealish given his importance to the team’s fortunes and will not consider selling the attacker for anything less than a new British transfer record.

And while Grealish has remained loyal to Villa until now, the player dropped a big hint that he could be keen on leaving his current team for Unuted on Friday.

While reacting to a highlights reel of Wayne Rooney at Euro 2004, Grealish tweeted: ‘Nah this is just crazy [crying laughing emoji] 18 you know at the euros [shocked face emoji].’

Grealish then ‘liked’ a reply from a United fan which read: ‘Please join United [praying hands emoji].’

The Villa star has since removed his ‘like’ from the the post but speculation over his future is likely to rumble on over the coming weeks, with the summer transfer window set to open on June 9.

Grealish was out of football action for three weeks with a shin injury towards the end of the campaign but helped his side to an 11th-placed finish in England, contributing six goals and 10 assists.

Paul Scholes urged United this week to bring in a quality ‘creative midfield player’ and suggested one of Grealish or Jadon Sancho would fit the bill for his former club.

‘I think we need someone who is a creative midfield player. Grealish or Sancho, one of them would be ideal,’ the legendary ex-United and England midfielder told the Webby and O’Neill YouTube channel.

‘It would be great to have a left-footed centre back but I don’t think it’s needed, I don’t think we are desperate for that. ‘I would like to see a centre-half come in next to Maguire. I think Lindelof is doing alright, I just think alright isn’t good enough to win a league.

‘Marquinhos from PSG, I think he’s be a brilliant centre-half next to Maguire but again you’re talking about a lot of money.’
