Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho wants a transfer move to Liverpool ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.

The England international is United’s top target for this summer window but Dortmund are standing firm over their £109m valuation of the player.

Sancho has already established himself as one of the best young talents in Bundesliga with 34 goals and 43 assists in 99 matches.

The former Manchester City star has attracted interest from several teams around Europe, including Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool.

And according to Kicker, Sancho wants to join Liverpool instead of United because he believes he has a bigger opportunity of winning trophies with Jurgen Klopp’s si

However, Liverpool are unlikely to meet Dortmund’s asking price for Sancho having also pulled out of the race to sign Timo Werner and Kai Havertz this summer.

The blues are also believed to be unwilling to meet Bayern Munich’s £27.2m valuation of Thiago Alcantara due to major concerns over the Spaniard’s injury record and age.

When quizzed about a possible move for Sancho last month, Klopp told Bild: ‘A red jersey would look very good on Jadon Sancho.

‘But I don’t think such a transfer will take place this summer. ‘He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all.’

According to Kicker, there are doubts within Dortmund that Manchester United will agree to a deal as they do not want to allocate most of their transfer budget on a single player.
