Loftus-Cheek makes decision over Chelsea future ahead of Pochettino arrival

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is now looking to leave Chelsea at the end of the campaign and is in talks to join AC Milan, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has only one year left on his contract with Chelsea but the club are looking to trim their squad this summer.

AC Milan, meanwhile, have already had success with Chelsea signings in recent years with Fikayo Tomori and Giroud playing a vital role in their Serie A title victory last season.

According to The Guardian, Loftus-Cheek is ‘keen’ on a transfer move to AC Milan and discussions are ‘progressing well’.

The report claims that the Italian side have made Loftus-Cheek one of their priority signings for the summer transfer window.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are set to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent head coach at the end of the season and reports have suggested he has already identified several players he wants the club to keep.

Mason Mount, Gallagher, Reece James and Levi Colwill, who has impressed on loan at Brighton, are all believed to be viewed by Pochettino as a major part of his plans for Chelsea.

Pochettino is also believed to be open to the idea of having Romelu Lukaku back at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international struggled in his first campaign back at Chelsea after his £97.5 million move from Inter and returned to the Serie A team on loan last summer.
