Man Utd make approach to sign Blaise Matuidi from Juventus

Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to sign Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to sign a new midfielder this summer window after Ander Herrera’s exit to Paris Saint-Germain.

Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff also is on United’s radar but the English giants have been put off a move due to his £50million valuation by the club.

Spain Under-21 midfielder Dani Olmo and Everton star Idrissa Gueye have also been linked with transfer moves to Old Trafford.

But according to Le Parisien, Blaise Matuidi is wanted by Manchester United and the club have ‘come forward’ with an approach for the midfielder.

Everton, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Lyon are also believed to be interested in signing the 32-year-old, according to the report.

However, Juventus have refused to listen to offers for the France international and have ‘no intention’ of selling him this summer window.

Matuidi is about to enter his third campaign with Juventus after signing from French side Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £27.8 million in August 2017.

The World Cup-winning midfielder has won the Serie A title in both campaigns during his time in Turin and was also part of the team that helped the club win the Coppa Italia in 2018.
