Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to reports.
And Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expects to receive an offer for the £27million-rated player in “the next few days”.
Liverpool seem to be in pole position to sign Thiago. But Norwegian reporter Fredrik A. N. Filtvedt, who works for Dagbladet TV, claims the Red devils are now in the mix for his signature.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also believed to be monitoring Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek ahead of a summer transfer move.
Rummenigge confirmed: “We are expecting an offer from another club in the next few days. “He told us that at the end of his career, he would like to try something new.”
David Moyes was close to signing Thiago for Manchester United in 2013 but they were unable to reach agreement on personal terms.
The 29-year-old has since won an incredible seven consecutive Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich. But Solskjaer faces a battle to sign Thiago as it is believed he is interested in playing for Jurgen Klopp in the Premier League.

- Rooney claims Liverpool signing Thiago is better than Messi’s move to Man City
And Klopp is also a big fan, having said last month: “Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player.
“That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say! I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment.”
Meanwhile, Van de Beek has reportedly told his team-mates that he’s joining United – He was left out of Ajax’s squad to face Eintracht yesterday due to a transfer development.
