Manchester United have made an incredible £54million bid for Juventus’ lethal left-footed winger Douglas Costa, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho may have been sacked on Tuesday and Ole Solskjaer appointed as caretaker manager but plans for the future continue.
According to Rai Sport, United have tabled the offer with the Italian giants as they attempt to increase attacking options at the club.
The Brazil international is yet to score this campaign, though, with his last goal coming in May.
Costa’s arrival would make the way for an Alexis Sanchez exit after the Chilean’s poor start to life at Old Trafford.
Mourinho took the Chile international to United on a free from Arsenal in the January transfer window, picking up wages of £505,000-a-week.
While the exit of Mourinho may see a rejuvenation of the 30-year-old, the United hierarchy will not have been happy with headlines he’s made off the field.
SunSport revealed earlier this week that Sanchez had sent a WhatsApp message to team-mates claiming he won a bet on the sacking of Mourinho.
