Pedri predicts who Barcelona will play in Champions League final

Pedri has revealed the team he believes will confront Barcelona in this season’s Champions League final.

Barcelona will confront their former player and manager as they take on Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.

If they overcome PSG, they’ll face the winner of Atletico Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund for a chance in the final.

The opposite side of the bracket features Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. Bayern will compete against Arsenal, while Man City will challenge Real.

Pedri is optimistic about his team’s journey to the Champions League final and has even speculated about their opponents at Wembley Stadium on June 1.

He’s betting on Manchester City to make it to the grand event in London but is intrigued by the prospect of facing Real.

“What do I think will be the UCL final? Barca-City. Although, Barca-Madrid won’t be bad either,” he said.

“We are Barca. It’s very complicated, but of course we can win it. I see the Barcelona youngsters with confidence and a lot of desire in the Champions League.”

Manchester City currently hold the Champions League title after an extraordinary campaign last season.

They clinched their inaugural Champions League victory with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan.

Considered to be in the more formidable half of the draw, the Blues are among the frontrunners to progress all the way.

On the other hand, Barcelona hasn’t reached the final since the 2014/15 season when they defeated Juventus 3-1 to secure their fifth Champions League trophy.

Pedri, who has participated in 24 matches across all competitions this season, is presently sidelined with a thigh injury but is eager for a swift return to the pitch.

On his injury timetable, the 21-year-old midfielder added: “There’s no specific date for my return, but for now everything is going very well.

“I hope to return very soon. I’m mentally very good, actually. The recovery is going very well and I’m just thinking about coming back and enjoying.”
