Pochettino tells Chelsea to complete ‘Instant’ Sadio Mane signing

Chelsea incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino is throwing his weight behind a summer deal for Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane, according to reports.

It is believed that the Bundesliga giants are open to offers for the former Liverpool attacker – and £30million could complete the deal.

Pochettino is a huge fan of Mane and the Senegal international is seen as a viable target for Chelsea despite their likely lack of European football next season.

It is now expected that a move for the Bayern Munich star will be the West London side’s first attempt at signing a new striker this summer.

It is reported that Chelsea’s move for Mane could be an “instant deal”, given Bayern Munich’s willingness to sell. And Pochettino has given the move green light in his contract situations.

The Argentine’s appointment is expected be confirmed soon, after it was revealed last week that he has verbally accepted a job offer from Chelsea.

And the Chelsea dressing room reportedly sees Pochettino as an exciting appointment following a dismal 2022-23 campaign.

The Blues are currently in the market for a new forward this summer – but are hamstrung by financial fair play regulations and the lack of top-class strikers on the market.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has been watched regularly but the cost of the deal – which is in excess of £100million – means a move is unlikely.

Chelsea currently sit 12th in the Premier League under the stewardship of interim head coach Frank Lampard.
