Real star Marcelo pulls no punches: “Neymar is a better player than Eden Hazard”

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has risked upsetting new teammate Eden Hazard by claiming Neymar is the better player between the duo.

Eden Hazard moved to Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer window in a £89million transfer from Chelsea .

Neymar has also been linked with Real Madrid but is more likely to return to Camp Nou if he eventually leaves Paris Saint-Germain.

And Marcelo, who could leave the Spanish capital this pre-season, made his preference between both players clear.

“Eden is a ‘crackazo’, a very high quality player, like Neymar,” the defender told YouTube channel De Sola, “‘Ney’ has qualities to be in the world top five, it is impressive.

“Compare? You can not compare them, but Neymar is better for me.

“Neymar is an unpredictable player, very difficult to control. When the defender has imagined a movement to anticipate, he has already thought of another, and this is impossible to defend.

“Having Neymar in Real Madrid would be a huge pleasure, but I’m not the one who decides. Neymar is a great player and Real Madrid always has to do everything to bring the best players in the world.”

“His past at Barcelona would not be any difficulty,” he said. “Once we were in the preseason and, as he is a friend of mine and of Casemiro, he came to Real Madrid’s dressing room.

“He entered, greeted us and talked with us. When the match ends, the rivalry is parked.”

Barcelona have reportedly made an offer for Neymar at €90million plus two players from a list of six, which included Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele.

PSG are believed to want to recoup the £200m they spent on the Brazil international two years ago but will also be reluctant to hold on to a player so interested in leaving.
