Zinchenko rates Arsenal’s decision to sign Jorginho after they missed out on Caicedo

Oleksandr Zinchenko says Arsenal have signed a ‘big personality’ in Jorginho and believes the former Chelsea star will play a key role in the team’s push for the Premier League title this campaign.

Mikel Arteta wanted a new midfielder in January but Arsenal had multiple offers for their main target, Moises Caicedo, turned down by Brighton.

The Gunners ended up making the move to sign Jorginho and completed a £12m deal with Chelsea on deadline day.

The Italy international made his debut off the bench in the club’s 1-0 defeat to Everton last week, but Zinchenko feels his new teammate will have a major influence in the second half of their season.

When asked about Arsenal’s decision to sign Jorginho from Chelsea, Zinchenko told VBET News: ‘He is an amazing player, big personality. Huge experience as well.

‘He is a winner, he knows how to win. And for sure he’s going to help us a lot.’

Zinchenko was also asked about comparisons between Arteta and Guardiola ahead of Arsenal’s game with Manchester City.

‘I have known Mikel since City, and I always knew that he is an amazing manager,’ said Zinchenko.

‘There are a lot of similarities between Arteta and Guardiola, but obviously, everyone is a bit different, and still, there is some difference between them as well.

‘But the similarity is that both of them want to win every single game, and that’s the most important thing.’
