Gareth Bale could reportedly be available to join Manchester United for just £18.5m as Real Madrid desperately try to sell the Wales international this summer.
Bale has endured a rather fraught relationship with Madrid in recent months with both sides wanting to go their separate ways.
The 31-year-old winger came close to leaving last summer but the Spanish side cancelled a deal with a Chinese Super League club at the very last minute.
The Welshman ended up spending a lot of time on the bench last campaign at the Bernabeu and even asked not to travel to Manchester for Real’s Champions League game in August.
Former Los Blancos president Ramon Calderon has said that Gareth Bale could leave for nothing and also revealed that he could have joined a Premier League side last summer in an £89m transfer.
A bid was made for Bale and was rejected by Real Madrid, as the former Tottenham forward was expected to be a key first-team figure in the 2019/20 season, but it turned out not to be so.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim that Real Madrid do want some money but are ready to accept £18.5m for Bale with Manchester United and Tottenham both linked.

Real are even believed to be willing to pay half Bale’s £600,000-per-week wages to get him out of the club. United are the favourites to land Bale and Manchester would also be his preferred destination.
And The Wales International could be an alternative to Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer.
