Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer conceded he’s open to improving his team after his side booked a spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
Goals from Juan Mata, Rashford and Greenwood gave United a comfortable 3-0 victory against Luton, helping the club to put memories of a 3-1 loss against Crystal Palace behind them.
Donny van de Beek remains the Red devils’ only signing so far this summer and Solskjaer had discussed with the club about making as many as four signings before the window opened.
With only two weeks left before the window shuts, United are running out of time to add to their team and though Solskjaer says he doesn’t have any updates, he hinted the club are working on itm
‘We’re working with the ones we have [right now]’, said Solskjaer. ‘Let’s see what happens. We’ll give you updates if there is something.’
United hope to complete a deal for Porto defender Alex Telles this week but talks with the Portuguese side have progressed slowly.
The 27-year-old full-back has reportedly agreed personal terms with United but Porto want around £23m for his signature, even though he’s entering the last year of his contract.

Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher says that Solskjaer has earned the right to be backed in the transfer market and says the board should listen to his advice.
‘For me, trust Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,’ Fletcher told Sky Sports. ‘As long as the board is listening to him, the job he’s done has been fantastic, the recruitment has been great,” he told Sky Sports.
‘For me, I would rather wait a little bit longer and get the right target than go for someone mediocre in the meantime, the squad is good enough. The biggest thing is trusting Solskjaer.’
