Dortmund respond to Chelsea transfer link with Erling Haaland

Borussia Dortmund have told Chelsea that they are not interested in selling Erling Haaland this summer transfer window.

The Norway international has attracted interest from several big sides around Europe which include Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United.

But reports in recent weeks have claimed that the blues have stepped up their pursuit of Haaland as they are willing to allow both Tammy Abraham and Giroud to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of this transfer window.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is believed to be personally driving the London club’s efforts to sign Haaland.

But last season’s Champions League winners face a big task of reaching an agreement with Dortmund this summer, with the cost of the deal expected to be up to £150m.

And now Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, has made it clear to the club that Haaland is expected to stay for another campaign.

‘Erling Haaland is currently keeping fit at home in Norway,’ Zorc told Sport1 on Saturday. ‘He will be back with us in Dortmund for training on Monday.’

While seaking to Bild on Friday, Zorc said of Haaland’s situation: ‘Nothing has changed. ‘We are still planning with Erling for the new season.’

Haaland is contracted to Dortmund until 2024. But the striker, who has scored 57 goals in 59 matches for Dortmund, has a release clause between £64m and £85m which can only be activated in the summer of 2022.
