Dortmund sends message to Michy Batshuayi over Chelsea switch

Borussia Dortmund will not be looking to sign Michy Batshuayi this summer from Chelsea, according to Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

The Chelsea forward spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Dortmund and scored nine goals in 14 games.

Batshuayi’s form sparked rumours Dortmund wanted to make his move permanent, but Chelsea are believed to have rejected their approach.

With a new coach incoming at Chelsea, the club are convinced Batshuayi still has a future at Stamford Bridge.

And with Chelsea refusing to listen to offers for Batshuayi, Dortmund seem to have given up on signing the Belgium international.

He told Kicker: ‘We are searching for Mister X, but it is not Michy Batshuayi.

‘There is nothing to be reported today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.’

Chelsea fans will be delighted to learn Batshuayi is unlikely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after watching the striker shine in Germany.

Batshuayi struggled to break into Antonio Conte’s first eleven before asking to be sent out on loan amid worries he would not make Belgium’s World Cup squad if he continued to be on the Chelsea bench.

The 24-year-old’s time in Germany was a huge success and earned him a spot in Belgium’s squad and is currently at the World Cup.
