Former Jack Grealish coach claims Man Utd transfer is already done

Jack Grealish

Former Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood believes a summer transfer move for Jack Grealish to Manchester United is already done.

The Red devils are leading the race to sign the Aston Villa skipper, who is being tipped to leave regardless of whether or not they are able avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Villa are currently on 18th position, just a point behind Watford but with a much tougher games, meaning an immediate return to the Championship is on the cards.

United are the frontrunners to sign the English attacker as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to improve his team and continue their resurgence.

Despite Villa’s struggles this campaign, Grealish has stood out as one of the Premier League’s best players, he has seven goals and six assists so far this season, including a remarkable goal against United at Old Trafford last December.

That form had seen the 24-year-old in contention for a call-up to thevEngland team for Euro 2020, before the tournament was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.

United travel to Villa Park on July 9, and Solskjaer will get a closer look at the player, but according to Sherwood, Jack Grealish is already on his way to Old Trafford.

The former Blackburn and Tottenham midfielder was Grealish’s head coach during his time at Aston Villa back in 2015.

“I think Jack Grealish is a deal which is already done,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions. “He’s a player that they [Manchester United] need. I honestly believe there’s only one club for Jack Grealish.

“I don’t think he can stay at Aston Villa, he needs to progress his career. I think he signs for Manchester United.”

Grealish is reportedly set to earn a huge wage hike on his move to the Red devils with chief executive Ed Woodward willing to pay around £150,000-a-week for his signature.
