Henderson threatens to leave Man Utd amid interest from Chelsea & Tottenham

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he will seek to leave this summer if he is not made the first choice ahead of De Gea next season.

The England international returned to the theatre of dreams last summer after a good two-year loan spell with Sheffield but David De Gea has retained his place as first choice keeper.

Henderson has mainly been used in the FA Cup and in the Europa League but he is not satisfied and believes he is worthy of more chances in the Premier League.

The shot-stopper has impressed when given the opportunity this campaign and the Manchester Evening News claim Henderson has made his unhapiness known to Solskjaer.

It’s claimed Henderson has told the Norwegian coach that he is deserving of more first-team chances in the Premier League and if he’s not made number one next season he will look to leave in the summer window.

Henderson signed a new five-year contract last summer, despite attracting interest from London sides Chelsea and Tottenham.

And Frank Lampard was keen to sign a replacement for Kepa but the Red devils were unwilling to sell the keeper to a direct rival.

United value Henderson at around £40 million and Tottenham could be another possible destination, with Mourinho reportedly looking to replace Hugo Lloris.

De Gea’s form has improved this campaign compared to last season but his recent form has been called into question after two huge mistakes in a 3-3 draw against Everton this month.

The former Atletico Madrid keeper is United’s top earner on £350,000-per-week and only few teams in the world could afford to match his wages should United decide to sell this summer.
